Build a Dollar Store Parabolic Microphone

Ok friends I've been looking for a cheap parabolic microphone and can I say that it is not an easy task. Along the way I have found prices ranging from $55.00 (kids version) and $250.00 to $2,500.00 or better for the more professional quality versions. Its pretty easy to say that they are mostly out of our price range for a decent unit.

So I continued to search and I came across this little gem and figured that if you added a little bit better of a microphone from Radio Shack for maybe $25-$30 and get a decent recorder than this may just be the ticket. Although I have yet to actually build and test one out but I plan to in the very near future. I was also thinking that it may look a little silly but then I thought to myself what's the bigg deal...I'm looking for Bigfoot so do i care that I have an umbrella hat on my head....
Heck No! I'm cheap and always looking for the best deals even if it involves a little bit of foot work and time.

Below you will find the link to the original site where i found it and all the instructions and materials in detail with picture illustrations and all.

This is a ridiculously easy way to build a very functional parabolic microphone using mostly items purchased from one of those stores where everything is a dollar.
